Late Night Philosophy

Life will not always go as we expect
There will be challenges
Minefield Mondays
Terrible Tuesday
Woeful Wednesdays
Frustrating Thursdays
Frightful Fridays
Stinky Saturdays
Sorrowful Sundays.

Focusing all our attention on the problem encourages an exponential growth in disillusion and resentment.
Instead, look beyond and seek a way forward that provides a solution that is fair to everyone.
Listen, before you set your course. God can speak in the way we least expect, but the truth of his word is unmistakable.
Be kind, rather than sycophantic or patronising. People have very finely tuned bullshit detectors.
Give thanks, for even in the darkest times we may encounter joy. Do not let it slip by unnoticed.
When you turn to God, his peace will surprise you.

Pray before you act AND listen for an answer.
If the answer seems simple, be aware that you probably haven't grasped the complexity of the situation, particularly if it concerns others.
Expect to be challenged. If all you hear is an affirmation, check you have removed your fingers from your ears.
Be prepared to be the answer to your prayer, but make no assumptions!

However...
Do not turn
a blind eye to injustice
a deaf ear to the cries of those who are suffering.

Do not allow your voice to be silenced
or your words unwritten.

Remember that God loves the person who is driving you round the bend,
just as much as he loves you.

For we were born for such a time as this.

No less.
