After our arboreal admirations we popped into the nearby Berries Restaurant at Oakchurch Farm Shop, where I found a pink hoodie and scarf I really liked and a set of Christmas lights.... Fortunately, I also found a cuddly burgundy jumper that would suit my husband perfectly, which would soften the blow of my spending...

| 'Stop trying to butter me up' - butter is NOT this colour... |
Four days after returning home and I am still battling to catch up with a fortnight's washing, acquired from a week's holiday. How did I manage this multiplication of laundry? This year we had a seasonal pitch down in Devon, which meant we went back and forth, but the caravan stayed put. Unfortunately, when packing the car at the end of our previous visit the laundry also stayed put... As we were halfway home before we realised, it was agreed that we would cope without this clothing for six weeks, rather than prolong the agony of motorway traveling. At various points during this end of season trip, my daughter would make pointed remarks about 'not forgetting the laundry this time'. I don't think she has quite grasped that end of season entailed bringing the caravan with us... Back home and I feel like I have opened a laundry, as loads get processed - machine, line, airer, airing cupboard. I am not a fan of tumble driers, preferring to use a combination of natural wind and a dehumidifier to aid the drying process, which is followed up by a few hours in the airing cupboard to complete the process. In addition to clothing, there is the bedding and any odd towels that had been languishing in caravan cupboards over the summer, plus what we wore immediately before we went away, and what we have worn since... At least the weather is somewhat drier now we have returned!
Back home means a return to work. Add to the mix, after school club, Open the Book, Service of Remembrance and having to watch the Great British Bake Off Final before anyone could spill the beans (as they have with the previous two episodes) and I feel like I need another holiday - but that would be like asking for an extra slice...
